Be a Library Volunteer for your child’s class – shelve books, help kids check out books
*If you haven't already, please let your Room Parent know that you'd like to volunteer in the library*
Be Understanding our Differences Volunteer (3rd, 4th, 5th grade)- help w/ in-class activity
Event and Activity Opportunities
Principal Coffees - provide refreshments for a Principal Coffee (expenses are reimbursed)
School Appreciation Day - help paint, repair and clean up school Sat Oct 22
Halloween Bash – man a game, or staff the door, or manage a craft table, or face paint, or set up or clean up
Social Action Committee – help w/ coat drive, or canned food drive or used book drive or other social action at school
Creative Arts and Sciences – schedule and manage a program and/or greet a presenter
Franklin Auction – help solicit donations (by scripted email or online form), or stuff envelopes, or write thank you notes, or write promotions, or help with social media promotions, or help organize auction details
* Auction volunteers are URGENTLY NEEDED! Most tasks can be done online/at home.  You do not have to solicit in person or via phone.  PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING with our biggest fundraiser of the year! *
Staff Appreciation Luncheon – help set up, or help clean up, or bring food/drink, or help prep event
Color Day – staff a game during color day in early June
Multicultural Day - help plan, or host a booth, or help set up, or help clean up for event in April
Newton Serves – help with outdoor projects during city-wide day of service in the Spring
Kindergarten Welcoming Committee – greet at Orientation, create buddy groups, coord. playground nights
Fifth Grade Moving On – help sell pretzels or pizza after school, or help plan and create end of year party, or publish yearbook, or help plan and create fundraising events
Communications, Graphic Design, Tax Prep Opportunities
Franklin School Directory – solicit ads for directory, or collect family info, or sort data, and/or do layout
Graphic Designer – help create logos or images for posters, apparel and such
Tax Prep Assistance – provide nonprofit tax experience to assist with PTO tax filing

Multicultural Day Co-Chair – Help coord. volunteers for country booths and performances for Spring event
Green Team Coordinator – coordinate environmentally friendly initiatives at Franklin
 
Safe Routes to School Coordinator - coordinate activities to encourage to walk/bike to school
 
5th Grade Moving On Co-Chair - plan fundraisers to support class gift and end of year party
